Children's Author



Carla Fitzgerald is a writer, a recovered lawyer and mum of three, from Sydney.

Carla has honours degrees in Arts (English Literature) and Law. Before she discovered the joys of making stuff up, she worked for a judge, in private practice and at the Australian Human Rights Commission.  Now she works at her messy kitchen table trying not to eat all the biscuits.

She is a Books in Homes Role Model and a Coach with the Harding Miller Education Foundation. Carla is also a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCWBI) and the Australian Society of Authors (ASA).

Carla's debut picture book, Keeping Up with the Dachshunds will be out with Larrikin House in 2022.

Carla's debut middle-grade novel will be out with UQP in 2022.
